What information does registration ask for, and why?

Patient registration requires a username, email address and password. Name, nickname, postcode and date of birth are optional. Clinician applications also ask for practice and registration details so an administrator can review professional access.

Who can access role-restricted areas?

The portal checks the active role connected to a signed-in account. Clinician-only information also requires an approved clinician status. Management areas require the relevant curator or administrator permissions.

How is my account kept secure?

Passwords are handled by Django's authentication system and are not displayed in your account page. Use a unique password, keep your sign-in details private and reset your password if you think someone else knows it.

How do I raise a privacy or account concern?

Use the feedback form to describe the concern without including medical details or your password. The current portal does not publish a standalone privacy policy, so ask the portal team if you need more information about how account data is handled.

Where can I learn about heart failure?

The resource library includes plain-language information from Australian health organisations. General information can help you prepare for a conversation, but your healthcare team should advise you about your own condition and treatment.

How can I prepare questions for an appointment?

Write down what has changed, what you want to understand and any questions about your care plan. Take your current medicines list and any monitoring notes your healthcare team has asked you to keep.

Where can carers and family find support information?

Carers and family can use the public resource library and patient education links. Ask the person's healthcare team how you can support their individual care plan and what changes should prompt a call for help.

What happens while my clinician application is pending?

You can still use public portal information. Professional resources remain unavailable until an administrator approves the application. The account page shows your current verification status.
